Abstract:In recent years, research into the interplay between glioma and the gut microbiome has emerged as a burgeoning field. Remarkably, investigations have unveiled the existence of microbial communities thriving within the inner sanctums of glioma tumors. While antecedent studies have hinted the potential influence of the gut microbiome on glioma, primarily through mechanisms such as immunomodulation and epigenetic modifications, the intricate mechanisms governing this interplay remain elusive. This article serves as a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in microbiome-associated research pertaining to glioma and succinctly elucidates the implications of the gut microbiome in shaping the glioblastoma microenvironment and influencing disease progression. These insights offer an innovative perspective for delving deeper into the pathogenesis of glioma and enhancing prognostic and therapeutic endeavors.
